Download Festival 2024 – Sunday. Creeper are not just a band. They are an experience. One band, five dancers and a heck load of ‘Creeper Cult’ fans abundantly sharing their love for this horror, gothic, glam rock group.
Having seen them play Download in 2022, I already knew there was no point in having expectations when they would almost indefinitely be surpassed.
I was right. Frontman Will Gould and his un-merry band of underworld-embellished musicians stole the festival’s black heart as they cursed us with their selection of divinely dark discography.
Fire spurted from the front of the stage as drummer Jake Fogarty took on a mid-set solo, pitched high on a platform above the ground level of the stage.
Their top-streamed track Cyanide hits particularly well as it becomes clear today is all about reaching for every last bit of music indulgence we can.
The band finishes their set as the festival packs closer in, reaching for a grab of what they can.
The whole set is a celebration of all things Creeper, and it is evident they have worked tirelessly to ensure their show reaps havoc above the rest. Bring on more backup dancers, I say.

Download Festival 2024 will mark the second year of the festival selling out, with weekend, day and camping tickets now completely gone. The festival will reunite its incredible community of fans for a jam-packed five-day event (June 12-16).
