Matricide / Walk Into The Flames is Groove Metal done well

Matricide have today released the Walk Into The Flames, the first new music this year from the Tel-Aviv Groove Metal quartet. The single is taken from their second album, due later this year, which the band describe as “Heavy and progressive, with powerful melodic hooks.”

Matricide are “going for a unique and fresh sound,” guitarist Auria Sapir said. “The band has set off to explore new grounds, throwing some interesting elements into the mix.”

“Walk Into The Flames is Groove Metal done well,” MetalTalk’s Jools Green says. “I love everything about this track. The haunting, suspenseful opening riffs swiftly changing to a punchy yet bouncy groove, the riffing developing complex twists, perfectly balanced against the raw vocals delivered with power, clarity, and great intonation. Walk Into The Flames is a beautifully fluid track that is a hugely engaging and addictive listen. I can’t wait to hear the full album.”

The new album is a follow-up to their highly acclaimed debut full-length When Random Turns to Fate. “The idea was to send the listener on a new kind of journey,” Sapir says. “Something heavy and groovy, but at the same time a spiritual, thought-provoking listening experience. The title of our new single fits perfectly. It’s about walking into the unknown, looking for a way out of our comfort zone, both in music and in life as a whole.”
