Beth Blade & The Beautiful Disasters / Steamy Video Teases Superb New Album

With a new album set for release on 12 September, Beth Blade & The Beautiful Disasters have released a video for the latest single You Only Love Me When You’re Drunk. This follows the earlier single, Never Let It Go, both tracks being tasty teasers to the follow-up of Mythos, Confession, Tragedies and Love, released in 2022.

“Let’s cut to the chase, Beth Blade And The Beautiful Disasters are the dog’s bollox,” wrote MetalTalk’s Brian Boyle in his review of Mythos, Confession, Tragedies and Love. “Ahead of your next heating bill, food on the table or your local unfriendly loan shark, their latest album should be your next monetary outgoing.”

It left a feeling that this detonating Welsh gang deserve to be the flag-wavers of the New Wave Of Classic Rock movement.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Beth Blade said. “Our new album is finally seeing the light of day on 12 September, and we are so excited to share it with you. Whilst I can’t yet divulge too much, there is laughter, unadulterated fun, rock ‘n’ roll spirit and a vintage flair that never goes out of style.

“There’s also pain, fear, vulnerability and depths so dark they may make old wounds ache.”

You Only Love Me When You’re Drunk is a steamy rocker with a saucy monochromatic style video. Even bassist Berty Burton’s KISS character manning his amp is suitably attired.

“We’ve all been there, right?” Beth says of You Only Love Me… “Making an absolute fool of yourself for someone who messes with your head and puts in the minimum amount of effort until they want something from you?

“Sometimes songs have grand explanations, and sometimes the meaning is simple. This one’s for anyone who’s been treated like dirt but kept going back because the highs and lows became like an addiction and you couldn’t stop yourself wanting more.”

Released on 1 May 2025, Never Let It Go was the first teaser for the new album. “It’s a scary world,” Blade said, “so right now, we felt like we all deserved a little light-heartedness. Never Let Go makes me think of sunshine and open roads, living in the moment, falling in love, staying up all night and singing until you’re hoarse, reminiscing on the times you’ve shared with your people.

“Nostalgia can remind you why you felt the magic in the first place. That feeling isn’t something we should give up, and it’s why we should never let go.”

Beth has spoken of her experiences as a survivor of domestic violence and her hope to use music to help people through their own experiences.

“Without a doubt, one of the best British female hard rock vocalists to emerge in decades,” Brian Boyle wrote, and these two singles certainly suggest an even exciting future for Beth and the band.
