Black Sabbath / Technical Ecstasy next for super deluxe treatment

Technical Ecstasy, the seventh Black Sabbath studio album, is next in line for the super deluxe treatment and will be released on 4-CD and 5-LP versions 1 October 2021, via BMG.

The set includes a newly remastered version of the original album, a brand new mix by Steven Wilson and more than 90 minutes of outtakes, alternative mixes and live tracks.

Summer 1976 saw Osbourne, Iommi, Butler and Ward head to Miami to record Technical Ecstasy at Criteria Studios. Having completed their tour in support of Sabotage, they found that their live performances had evolved to include keyboards and synthesizers, and these sounds were brought into the recording process for this seventh album.

With tracks like the hard-charging Back Street Kids, the ballad It’s Alright, the funky All Moving Parts (Stand Still) and the progressive Gypsy, the album would reach number 13 in the UK chart and be certified gold in the US. The single from the album, It’s Alright, was the first Sabbath song to feature vocals from Bill Ward.

This collection includes ten live tracks recorded during their 1976-77 Technical Ecstasy World Tour. The fantastic large booklet featuring artwork, photos, liner notes, and interviews is a must-read as with previous releases. A replica of the 1976-77 tour book is included, along with a large colour poster.

Released on 1 October, Technical Ecstasy can be pre-ordered from blacksabbathband.lnk.to/technicalecstasydlxPR
