Gig Of The Week / Ward XVI Begin Their ID3NTITY October Tour In Dundee

WARD XVI bring their brand new ID3NTITY stage show and album to venues across the UK this October, where they deliver the brutal and cinematic finale to the Psychoberrie trilogy. The tour kicks off at Hidden Dundee this Saturday and runs to the big Halloween Homecoming at Blitz Preston on 31 October.

“We are extremely excited to bring the new music and show to you,” the band said. “If you saw the photos or were at the launch show, you’ll know it’s a night not to be missed, so please order your tickets now and tell us you’re coming.”

If you were at the recent NWOCR LiveFest 4, at KK’s Steel Mill, you would have seen the “impressive” Ward XVI up close. “In a scene dominated by soundalike bands,” MetalTalk wrote of their performance, “Ward XVI not only provide something different but make you remember them by having enough variety in their music to stand by itself, as well as taking their staging far beyond others going down the costumed route.”

Ward XVI have certainly never lacked ambition or imagination, and the scope of what they have achieved so far has exceeded the theatrical and encompasses more of a cinematic feel, replete with a compelling central figure.

Following on from the increasingly bold and unhinged debut The Art Of Manipulation and onto the stunning sophomore Metamorphosis, this last adventure, ID3NTITY, is their grandest yet, and you feel that every last drop of blood (plenty of it), sweat and tears has gone into it.

This last particular ride with the inmates of Ward XVI is undoubtedly their finest achievement yet and a suitably satisfying end to the saga.

“The underground live scene is struggling at the moment,” the band said, “and we want to see all of your beautiful faces in the circus pit.”

You have twelve more chases this year to see Psychoberrie, Doktor Von Stottenstein, Wolfy Huntsman, Bam Bam Bedlam, Rico Rameres, and Nurse Betty pull out all the stops.
