Troy Redfern, who will be on a fifteen-date UK co-headline tour with The Commoners this April, has released his new single, The Fever. The track is taken from his new album, due later this year.
“The Fever is about pushing back and breaking through all the obstacles when you’re feeling held down,” Troy says. “It’s about feeling as if it’s you against the world.”
A slide guitar blues barn-buster with subtle nuances of rock, glam and psychedelia, the song deals lyrically with themes of emancipation and breaking out. “The plan for The Fever was to make something bigger and ballsier than what has come before,” Troy says. “I also wanted to expand the musical landscape with new colours and sonic horizons.”
The Commoners, whose last album was Find A Better Way, will join Troy on a co-headline tour in April, running from The Grace in London on 13 April 2023 to The Bodega, Nottingham, on 29 April 2023. Tickets are on general sale from 11 January 2023.
