DIO Rules are heading back to the stage for three Halloween weekend shows, with the all-star project also confirming its first dates for 2027. The group celebrates the music of Ronnie James Dio across his work with Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio. The upcoming run begins on Thursday 29 October at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, before moving to Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe on Friday 30 October and Broad Brook Opera House in Connecticut on Saturday 31 October.
DIO Rules Lineup And The Music Of Ronnie James Dio
DIO Rules made a strong start in 2026, including a run of July concerts marking Ronnie James Dio’s birthday. The band says its first six shows drew almost 2,000 people, with appearances at Sellersville Theater, The Suffolk, Tupelo Music Hall and The Newton Theatre among its early dates.
At the microphone is Andrew Freeman of Last in Line, the band formed by original members of Dio. Freeman has also recently performed with Lynch Mob. Guitarist Angus Clark, whose credits include Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Joe Lynn Turner, joins the Halloween dates after touring the UK and Europe with Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks.
Mark Klett handles guitar and keyboards, with both Klett and Clark due to return to Trans-Siberian Orchestra for its holiday tour. Drummer Matt Starr has worked with Ace Frehley, Mr. Big and KIX, while bassist Winston Roye’s credits include Soul Asylum and the Broadway production of Rock of Ages.
The band’s live set draws on songs including Stargazer, Heaven and Hell, Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark and The Last in Line, bringing together key moments from Dio’s remarkable career.
The project also has a charitable element: one dollar from each ticket sold will go to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which supports cancer prevention, research and education.
