Download Festival 2024: Embrace The Rain And Party On

Download 2024, we are here. As is the blissfully keep-you-on-your-toes English weather. Though, as the clouded sun belted down, many started questioning their limb-covering attire, the rain is now showering down thick and fast. Not that that ever stops a true Metalhead from beasting it out to the best Heavy Metal music on the live scene.

Given the last two years of scorching heat, I think we sort of deserve a typical wet festival experience. The impending canary of mud-slides is starting to brew, but who really cares? The only way to do Download is to go headfirst into the horned madness that a weekend in a Metal haven offers.

If anything, it has enlivened a sense of festival hardy spirit. Or is that just the ‘rock-or-die’ mentality talking? Either way, there is nothing quite like being on the cusp of some of the world’s biggest acts about to take to the stage.

Download Festival 2024 will mark the second year of the festival selling out, with weekend, day and camping tickets now completely gone. The festival will reunite its incredible community of fans for a jam-packed five-day event.

Today, we have the phenomenal Queens Of The Stone Age headlining with Royal Blood and Black Stone Cherry supporting. Too many other great acts are already kicking things off either backstage or upon it. As another sell-out year for Download, it is no wonder when the roster is this good.

As we squelch to the stages, we stride towards the beckoning brilliant time. Those Damn Crows have already smashed out an outstanding set, as well as The Blue Stones and Storm kicking off the day in style. No rain can dampen this festival’s appetite for ferocious enjoyment.

For those long weekenders, Thursday night kicked up a storm with hard-rocking band Devere standing as a true ode to rock ‘n’ roll with a whip-cracking performance that left punters with only one question: when will they be hitting the mainstage?

Out onto the fields of plenty we go. Download continues to be the black leather-bound godsend for Metal Maniacs alike.
