MuddiBrooke Premiere New Single One Life Ahead Of Debut Album

MuddiBrooke will release One Life on 30 October 2026, the first single from their forthcoming self-titled debut album. The Derby alt-rock trio’s first full-length record is due in spring 2027, produced by Thunder’s Luke Morley and recorded and mixed by Nick Brine.

Born from a sleepless night of overthinking, One Life tackles the worries, insecurities and everyday pressures that can fill the early hours. Its simple beat builds towards a communal finale, turning private anxieties into a reminder to live life on your own terms.

That sense of togetherness extends to the accompanying music video, which features local Derbyshire fans from the band’s community, The Tribe. The video is set for release alongside the single on 30 October 2026, but premieres on MetalTalk tonight. For full details, visit linktr.ee/MuddiBrooke.

Brooke On The Story Behind One Life

“Whenever I’m trying to fall asleep, that’s when my brain seems to go into overdrive,” Brooke told MetalTalk. “Worries, hopes, fears, insecurities and completely random thoughts all arrive at once. That’s exactly how One Life was born. The lyrics are essentially a collection of thoughts I had during one sleepless night, all mashed together.

“We wanted the video to capture that same feeling of randomness and the vulnerability that comes with being alone with your thoughts. The vast, open field leaves us exposed, while the constant cuts of us moving around it reflect how quickly and unpredictably our minds can jump from one thought to the next. Take the monkey, for example. Why is he even in this? Everyone needs an excuse for a monkey.

“But beneath the randomness, the video is also a reflection of life itself. The contrast between the gloomy shots and the sunshine represents the inevitable ups and downs we all experience. The old, gnarly tree in the background remains rooted and still throughout, a reminder that life keeps moving around us, whatever we do. It’s dead, weathered and yet incredibly beautiful.

“There’s something quite refreshing about looking at death that way, rather than adding it to the ever-growing list of things to worry about!

“Ultimately, that’s what One Life is about. Don’t waste your time worrying about what other people think, comparing yourself to others or trying to be someone you’re not. Be yourself. Who cares what they say?

“We were also incredibly lucky to have so many of our supporters want to be part of the video. Seeing so many different people come together really brought that message to life.

“We’re all different, with our own thoughts, insecurities and ways of seeing the world, but we can still come together as one. For me, that’s what makes the line ‘Who cares what they say?’ so important.

“It sums up the whole song.”
