Dan Patlansky and Arielle team up for spring 2022 UK Tour
24 June 2021
Dan Patlansky had announced a ten date spring 2022 UK tour in support of his upcoming tenth studio album. Special guest for the tour, apart from Manchester, is the superb Arielle.
The new record is expected early in 2022, with Dan telling us he “recorded the new record mid-2019 in my hometown of Pretoria, South Africa. I was unhappy with the result and re-recorded most of the album end of 2019. COVID-19 put the brakes on any touring and release options for 2020. This gave me the opportunity to really refine the album, with a rewrite of a few songs and a re-record of a few tracks in early 2021.”
Patlansky last toured the UK in 2018, on the back of his Perfection Kills album. During the subsequently extended break, he has been using his time well. “I’ve spent the last year building up a following on my Patreon page, which is a subscription-based platform where I release weekly guitar tuition material and content,” he tells us.
The break from the usual routine gave him the opportunity to also work on his music and style, which bodes well for the next album. “I feel I have made big strides in my playing and singing style, as well as writing, arranging, and production that will be evident on the release of the new record in early 2022.”
The new album will feature Patlansky’s Masterbuilt Jason Smith Fender Strat. “It’s a replica of my three Strats I’ve played for years. It has the neck of the ’62, the body of the ’64, and the colour of a partocaster. It’s the best sounding guitar I’ve ever owned. I’m looking forward to playing it when I tour the UK in April 2022.”
Arielle recently released her ninth studio album Analog Girl in a Digital World, which MetalTalk described as a phenomenal album with warmth, professionalism and careful attention to detail and love that is greatly missed in the modern world.
