Tenacious D, often hailed as the greatest rock band in the world, returns for a UK Tour in just over one month for the next leg of their Spicy Meatball Tour. The duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass have also released a lyric video for Baby One More Time from the new film Kung Fu Panda 4.
The pair brought their Spicy Meatball Tour to the UK in June last year before heading off to Hellfest. They are back again on six dates, opening in Birmingham on 7 May 2024.
“It’s no joke,” they say. “Tenacious D is the best band in the world, and in the Spicy Meatball Tour, they are at the peak of their powers. Better than the Beatles…better than the Stones…even better than Taylor Swift. And they have PYRO.”
“Do not miss the spicy meatball… it’s D- licious!!!”
The Spicy Meatball UK Tour at The O2 Arena in London was a big success. “The crowd leaves happily,” MetalTalk’s Chris Howell wrote, “knowing they witnessed a bunch of men in their 50s completely rock The 02 Arena to the ground. It makes a nice change to see a band with so much wit and happiness compared to the more serious subjects most Heavy Metal bands write about.” Tickets are available from here.
Tenacious D burst onto the scene in the late 1990s, quickly gaining a cult following through their humorous lyrics, acoustic guitar prowess, and dynamic stage presence. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2001, featured the hit Tribute, a song that humorously claims to be the greatest song in the world, encapsulating the band’s playful arrogance and musical talent.
