Dirty Honey will release their third full-length album, Catch My Butterfly, on 15 January. The announcement arrives with the first two singles, Lights Out and Butterfly.
Produced by John Feldmann, whose credits include Yungblud, blink-182 and Korn, Catch My Butterfly finds Marc LaBelle on vocals, John Notto on guitar and Justin Smolian on bass expanding the band’s sound while retaining the grit and energy that have driven their rise.
“I’m very proud of our perseverance,” LaBelle said. “Any band has to really survive to make a third record. We’ve made mistakes in the studio, gotten over past regrets, lived more and become better songwriters. All of those things snowballed into Catch My Butterfly.”
Smolian added, “Catch My Butterfly shows the width of what we can do as musicians and songwriters. We’re no one-trick pony.”
Lights Out And Butterfly
Lights Out opens the record with open chords, delay-soaked staccato guitar, a driving bass line and a steady beat before turning into a heavier rush of riffs. Notto described it as the album’s first “banger” and said the finished solo was already present on the demo.
By contrast, Butterfly leans into the band’s soulful side with acoustic guitar and strings. LaBelle wrote the song from the perspective of a family living with addiction and the fear of not knowing whether a loved one is safe.
“There are addiction issues in my family,” LaBelle said. “I tried to write from a different perspective – either that of a father to an addicted child or the family member of an addict. In this scenario, you’re so overcome with worry about whether or not your loved one is alive or dead at any given moment.”

Dirty Honey made history with When I’m Gone, the first song by an unsigned artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The Los Angeles band released their self-titled debut in 2021, followed by Can’t Find The Brakes in 2023. The latter reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
