Space Elevator / Persona Non Grata Part 2’s “lyrics have rarely been more salient”

Space Elevator, who recently released their third album Persona Non Grata, have released a video for the track Persona Non Grata Part 2.

“Persona Non Grata Part 2 is the rock counterpart to the acoustic and Morricone style Part 1,” the band told MetalTalk. “These are the opening tracks on the Persona Non Grata album.”

The album finds Space Elevator crafting their own take on a range of classic and familiar sounds and presenting it with style all their own. The band’s previous album, Space Elevator II, reached the top 30 in the UK rock chart and indie top 20

Guitarist David Young explained to MetalTalk why the feelings behind Persona Non Grata Part 2 are important. “Both have similar sentiments lyrically,” he says, “but PNG part 2 is far more aggressive both musically and lyrically. The track is cinematic in feel and wouldn’t be out of place in the soundtrack of a modern-day action film such as Bourne or Bond.

“While The Duchess wrote the lyric in response to a real-life experience, it has a universal feel and could be directed at someone we know personally or even at certain world leaders. In this respect, these lyrics have rarely been more salient.”
