With those within the music industry, along with friends and fans, shocked and saddened by the untimely death of legendary drummer Robin Guy, it has been announced that a benefit gig will take place in Robin’s honour.
The highly regarded drummer, who worked with numerous bands, including Sack Trick, Rachel Stamp, Sham 69, Faith No More, Eric Faulkner’s Bay City Rollers and Bruce Dickinson, tragically passed away on September 8 at the age of 54 after battling cancer.
News of his passing was announced by music journalist and Goldblade member John Robb.
Friends of Guy have rallied together to arrange a benefit gig at The Forge in Camden Town, which will see artists including Sack Trick and Rachel Stamp’s David Ryder Prangley featuring on the bill alongside Janus Stark and Kentish punk pioneers Anti Nowhere League.
Other bands appearing will include Bite Me, The Conspirators and Cobrettii, who feature Robin’s wife, Jess and his brother Corin.
The event, which will take place at The Forge in Camden on 16 November 2024 from 5 pm, will be hosted by Monsta Event’s Mick Wood. There will also be a short auction and a raffle, with all of the proceeds going to Guy’s wife, Jessica.
An afterparty event has also been arranged at the The Dev, nearby.
Tickets to the event can be purchased from WeGotTickets.
A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help Jess, where donations and goodwill messages can be made.
