Paul Mario Day – Iron Maiden and Wrathchild at The Cart & Horses

In 2021, on a special day at The Cart & Horses, the birthplace of Iron Maiden, Paul Mario Day took the stage to celebrate the deep legacy and early years of one of Heavy Metal’s most iconic bands.

The festivities of Super Mario Day paid homage not just to the legendary British Heavy Metal band but also to the deep connections and brotherhood formed during Iron Maiden’s early days.

Day closed the event performing Iron Maiden and Wrathchild, bringing to life the raw energy and passion that characterised the band’s early days. The performance featured former Maiden guitarist Terry Wapram and Buffalo Fish.

Paul Mario Day’s show there was not just a concert. It was a bridge across time, connecting the dots between the band’s humble beginnings and their monumental rise to global prominence.

“Honestly, this memory is going to last with me until my last breath,” Paul said to the assembled crowd. “I’m so grateful you’re here. I’m so privileged singing for you. I’ve come from a dark place, and you’ve sent me into the light.”

With Day’s performance, fans were transported back to a time when Iron Maiden was just beginning to forge its path, reminding everyone of the enduring power and legacy of their music.
