Neuronspoiler / Crimson Tales Has The Makings Of A Modern Metal Classic

Neuronspoiler are back, and with a new album imminent, the lads have given us a little teaser as to what is about to be unleashed on our unsuspecting ears and what a track it is.

Crimson Tales has all the makings of a modern classic: sublime riffs, eccentric timing, powerful lyrics and a thunderous bassline. This track really harks back to the bygone days of rock-solid, no-nonsense Heavy Metal.

However, this number is more than a fast-paced, head-down, horns-up crowd-pleaser. It is a thoughtful, melodic piece of work which takes you places you are not expecting.

If Ronnie James Dio and Iron Maiden had produced a “love child”, then this would be it. From its menacing opening riff and slightly sinister choral intro, you are taken on an exotic, wondrous sonic journey.

The track breaks into the main melody with vocals reminiscent of the late, great Dio in his heyday. The vocals carry an urgency to them, demanding to be heard, while the twin-guitar attack sails seamlessly across the entire number, as though inextricably linked to each other.

One of the interesting features of this song is the guitar solos. They are plentiful, and certain aspects of them should not fit. Yet not only do they fit, they are a vital enhancement.

The drums are solid and powerful, while the bassline is not fancy. It is quite understated, allowing the guitars to really stand out. Lyrically, the song is superb. You can immerse yourself in what is a fine piece of storytelling.

The AI-engineered video is also a nice touch. There is an element of Kurosawa about it – bold and dynamic. “To be clear, only the visuals were done using AI,” the band say. “The music itself is pure Neuronspoiler.”

“Within the band, there is a debate about the use of AI as a tool to convey a message and assist in storytelling. Not everyone is convinced that a creative relationship should be made with Skynet. However, the band was drawn to the concept of inevitability in conjunction with the overall theme of the album, The House Always Wins. AI is just a tool, and it’s absolutely everywhere.

“Look within the music video itself for clues on the narrative of the environmental and mental health impact of AI, algorithm worship and techno theology. We realise the irony of using AI to discuss the use of AI, but here we are.

“This music video is designed to be a conversation starter on the use of technology to further artistic goals. Is it possible using AI? Is it legitimate? Is it of artistic value?”

The video fits the song beautifully and is a visual delight. With Jr Vox on vocals, David Del Cid and Adam Breyer on guitars, Francesco Giorgianni on drums and Loki on bass, a bit of a masterpiece has been created here.

The band have set the bar exceedingly high with this track, but if the rest of Neuronspoiler’s new album, The House Always Wins, is as good as Crimson Tales, they will have a hit on their hands.

“Heavy Metal is at its best when it serves as a warning to others,” Neuronspoiler says. “A warning that evil can exist as a threat from the outside but also from within. The modern world of media, music, our online existence can feel empty, but we can’t seem to tear ourselves away. This is the way things are, and we must accept this new reality. Do we give up and give in?”

Neuronspoiler will release The House Always Wins on 28th February 2026, with an album launch show and party at a yet-to-be-announced London venue. Keep an eye on the band’s Facebook page for more details.
