John Finberg exposé / Overkill, U.D.O, Kamelot and more distance themselves from booking agent

Following the exposé from MetalSucks, the list of bands who have moved to distance themselves from promoter John Finberg continues to grow.

As previously reported here and here, Nightwish, Amorphis, Delain, Amaranthe, Battle Beast, Sonata Arctica, Swallow the Sun, Power Glove, Angra, Hammerfall and Brittany Slays (Unleash The Archers) have all issued social media statements, while Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum, initially, quietly removed his name from their websites and Epica posted an Instagram story update.

Over the last 24 hours, the list has continued to grow.

Kamelot, Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum have clarified their position, as you can see in the social media messages below.

A short time ago, Overkill have stated that they stopped working with Finberg in 2016.

Update: 2 October 16:45 – Leaves’ Eyes state they ceased to be represented by the agency recently.

U.D.O posted a statement stating that they had ceased to work with him some time in the past, “after they realised his character.”

Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer also issued a statement, clarifying that Finberg had never worked as an agent for the band, but that on one previous tour “his company was running the meet and greets”, unbeknown to the band, having been brought in by a former manager.

The MetalSucks story contains allegations of sexual harassment, bullying, racism, misogyny and threats of violence.

There has been no official response from Finberg to these allegations.
