Veteran UK rockers Def Leppard release two new versions of their Greatest Hits album today. If you do not know who Def Leppard are, it is more than likely that you have arrived at MetalTalk by mistake.
Def Leppard – Greatest Hits
Released Date: 12 June 2026
Words: Robert Adams
Rattling towards their 50th Anniversary, Def Leppard certainly have not let the grass grow under their feet. This year alone, they have completed a sold-out, month-long residency in Las Vegas, toured India for the first time and released a wonderful new single, Rejoice.
To celebrate their upcoming UK arena tour, with special guests Extreme, Leppard have issued their multi-platinum Greatest Hits album on vinyl.
The blood red marbled edition will be available at these gigs, complete with exclusive tour edition artwork. For the purists, you can still get it in black vinyl with the original cover artwork.
When you have had as many hit singles as Def Leppard, boiling it down to ten tracks for a single album is an unenviable task. There will be loads of fans bemoaning the fact that their favourite single has not been included, but you cannot really complain about the tracks that made it.
SIDE ONE
Pour Some Sugar on Me
Hysteria
Photograph
Love Bites
Animal
SIDE TWO
Rock Of Ages
When Love and Hate Collide
Bringin’ On the Heartbreak
Foolin’
Armageddon It
Most rock bands would kill to have just a fraction of the hits that Def Leppard have had.
Def Leppard live are a different proposition to Def Leppard in the studio. They have been slated in the past for being too poppy to be a rock band and too heavy to be a pop band. It is a good thing they do not listen to those detractors, as they have produced quite an incredible body of work through the years.
Def Leppard is a heavier band live than they are in the studio, and they always deliver on stage. Obviously, I am not talking Slayer heavy, but Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen’s guitars are definitely more pronounced live. It does not matter what your taste in rock music is. I defy any rock fan not to have heard a Def Leppard song.

There is really not much more I can say about this album. Def Leppard Greatest Hits does exactly what it says on the tin, or the cover, if we are being pedantic.
All that is left for me to say is, grab yourself a ticket for a gig on this upcoming tour and rock out to one of the most successful bands the UK have produced. And get yourself a copy of the beautiful red marbled vinyl of their Greatest Hits album.
