Deep Purple’s new album, ‘InFinite’, has entered the German album charts at number one, their eighth album to hit the top spot in Germany in a career that spans an incredible forty-nine years.

Not only that, but the album also reached the Top 10 in many other European countries including number six in their native UK.

‘InFinite’ is Deep Purple’s twentieth studio album and it’s gone straight into the Top Ten album charts in the following countries:

Germany #1: Second #1 album in a row. Albums ‘In Rock’, ‘Fireball’, ‘Machine Head’, ‘Made In Japan’, ‘Burn’, ‘The House Of Blue Light’, ‘Now What?!’ have all gone to #1

Italy #3: The only albums in the whole Purple history to chart that well in Italy had been ‘Fireball’, ‘Who Do We Think We Are’ and ‘Burn’. Best chart position since 1973

Hella Rock Festival

Sweden #5: Best chart position in twenty-two years since ‘Purpendicular’

Norway #3: Their fourteenth Top Ten album there

Finland #4: Highest chart position since ‘The House Of Blue Light’ in 1987

Belgium #5: Best position since ‘Who Do We Think We Are’ in 1973

Netherlands #6: Highest chart entry by the band in forty-three years, since ‘Burn’

UK #6: Highest chart entry by the band in thirty-three years, since ‘Perfect Strangers’ in 1984

France #10: ‘Now What?!’ was the first album in the Top 25 since ‘Perfect Strangers’ but ‘InFinite’ is the first in the Top 10 in thirty-three years
