Bloodstock Festival 2024 – Friday. King Kracken had to sit on it for a while, but when it was heard they had a slot on the EMP stage, a roar resonated across South Wales so loud it could be heard deep in the darkest depths of the ocean.
Bloodstock Festival 2024
Catton Park, Derbyshire – Friday 9 August 2024

King Kraken
The Kraken wrapped its green tentacles around the EMP, and despite the competition (they are up against the Lemmy Forever memorial and then Clutch on the RJD stage and Eternal Champion in the Sophie Tent), they draw in a huge crowd of devotees, casual fans and interested on-lookers.
It is a heady mix that sees arms in the air, fists pumping, and riffs for days.
King Kraken grabs their opportunity with all tentacles, smashing through new tracks such as Scream and March Of The Gods, as well as a mix of choice cuts from their debut album.
By the time they crash into Castle Of Bones, the seething mass is roaring their appreciation and it is job done.
The King Kraken journey towards world domination continues, and with a return to the studio following directly after this show, more green terror will soon be unleashed.
Bloodstock 2024 will be held over the long weekend of 8-11 August 2024. MetalTalk’s Paul Hutchings, Adrian Stonley, Paul Monkhouse and Keith Conlin will be reporting from Catton Park.
