More than 300 pieces of music history from the private archive of industry veteran Lindsay Brown will go under the hammer at Omega Auctions in Merseyside on 15 September 2026. The collection spans Brown’s five-decade career and includes memorabilia connected with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kate Bush, Nick Drake, Black Sabbath, New York Dolls, Queen and many more.
Brown began his music industry career in 1969 as social secretary at Ewell Technical College, where he promoted concerts by artists including Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Caravan, Taste, Genesis, Nick Drake and Atomic Rooster. He later held senior positions at Red Bus, MAM, Rock Exchange, Polydor and Eagle Rock Entertainment. As managing director of Eagle Rock Entertainment, he signed The Rolling Stones for visual rights.

Rare concert posters lead the sale
Among the leading lots is an extremely rare poster for an Atomic Rooster, Genesis and Nick Drake concert held at Ewell Technical College on 24 January 1970. Expected to achieve more than £5,000, it may be the first example of its kind to reach the open market.
A framed red-and-gold David Arnott poster for a Black Sabbath performance supporting Caravan is estimated at more than £1,000. A large black-and-gold poster advertising the New York Dolls’ first UK performance at the Big Biba Rainbow Room in London in November 1973 is also valued above £1,000.

“My collection reflects a lifetime in the music industry and a lifelong passion for music,” Lindsay Brown said. “I’ve worked with incredible artists and witnessed some extraordinary moments in music history. Most of these items represent personal memories as much as collectible artefacts. I’m delighted that they will now have the opportunity to be appreciated by other collectors and music enthusiasts.”
