Hard rock supergroup Black Swan have announced the release of their third studio album Paralyzed, set to land on 13 February 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. To mark the news, the all star collective have unleashed a brand new single and video, If I Was King, following hot on the heels of previous taster The Fire And The Flame.
Black Swan bring together Robin McAuley (McAuley Schenker Group), Reb Beach (Winger, Whitesnake), Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, The End Machine, ex Dokken) and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Mr. Big) in a line up built for towering choruses and razor sharp riffs.
If I Was King throws down the gauntlet as a definitive statement of what the band are all about: high energy rock with killer melodies, punchy lyrics and top tier musicianship.
Guitarist Reb Beach calls the song one of his favourites on the record because it has all the trademark Black Swan elements – powerful guitar work, soaring vocals and a chorus that sticks in your head thanks to some unexpected chord twists.
Bassist and producer Jeff Pilson says the track shows the band at their best, full of great melodies, burning guitars and pounding rhythms, while drummer Matt Starr points to it as a prime example of how Robin McAuley’s lyrics create vivid imagery from the music.
Vocalist McAuley is equally fired up about Paralyzed, promising a step up in songwriting with even more devastating riffs from Beach, thunderous bass from Pilson and no doubt about where the thunder comes from behind the kit. The combination of sheer heaviness, big hooks and strong vocal lines is designed to give fans a record they will want to live with.
Recorded at Pilson’s Los Angeles studio, Paralyzed showcases Black Swan at full power, delivering a dynamic mix of towering vocals, razor edge guitar work and hook laden choruses. The album is described as fresh, Heavy and melodically rich – a cohesive, modern Heavy Metal record that still feels rooted in the classic tradition the members helped define.
Building on the blueprint laid down by debut album Shake The World (2020) and follow up Generation Mind (2022), Paralyzed takes the band’s melodic heaviness to a new level. With songs such as When The Cold Wind Blows, Death Of Me, Different Kind Of Woman, If I Was King, The Fire And The Flame and the title track Paralyzed, the quartet cement their reputation as a formidable force in contemporary hard rock.
Born from a conversation between Pilson and Frontiers President and Head of A&R Serafino Perugino about creating a project that would showcase McAuley’s vocal power with a musical backbone to match, Black Swan have grown into a fully fledged band whose chemistry is undeniable.
Paralyzed stands as the latest chapter in that story, a record aimed squarely at fans of melodic Heavy Metal and big, anthemic hard rock. Pre-orders are available at ffm.bio/blackswan_paralyzed
