Melbourne cinema-core outfit The Gloom In The Corner have announced their third full-length album Royal Discordance, due for release on 27 February 2026 via SharpTone Records, and unleashed the grandiose new single and video Angel’s Wrath Whiskey.
Fronted by vocalist Mikey Arthur alongside guitarist Jesse Abdurazak, bassist Paul Musolino and drummer Joshua Clinch, The Gloom In The Corner are opening a whole new chapter in their expanding narrative universe.
Angel’s Wrath Whiskey kicks off with breakneck drums, swirling synths and a flurry of guitars before exploding into an anthemic chorus that pushes their Metalcore theatrics into overdrive. “The first four shots are great, but too much of it will have you breaking down as hard as the end of the song,” the band say of the track.
Across 12 tracks, Royal Discordance promises an action-packed journey through The Gloom In The Corner’s twisted world, from the all-out onslaught of previous single Assassination Run to the cinematic brutality of Hope (Hollow Point Elysium), the grinning chaos of You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won’t Like Me Now) and the double finale of Love I: A Quaver Through The Pale and Love II: A Walk Amongst The Poppy Fields.
Recorded in 2024 with producer Jonathan Delese in Nashville, Tennessee, the album finds the band channelling everything from pit-splitting breakdowns to flashes of My Chemical Romance drama while still remaining true to their chaotic core.
The Gloom In The Corner have been steadily building their universe since 2016’s debut album Fear Me, followed by the Homecoming EP, Flesh & Bones, Ultima Pluvia and their 2022 breakthrough Trinity.
They have taken their immersive live show around Australia, Europe and North America, sharing stages with the likes of Fit For A King, Fit For An Autopsy, Cane Hill and more, and are currently in Europe supporting Swedish Metalcore greats Aviana.
In 2026 The Gloom In The Corner will also appear on the inaugural, already sold-out Hellbound Cruise alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris, Northlane and others. With “Royal Discordance” they look set to raise the bar again for cinematic Heavy music.
Royal Discordance, the third full-length from Melbourne cinema-core crew The Gloom In The Corner, lands on 27 February 2026 via SharpTone Records and is available to pre-order at bfan.link/royal-discordance.
