Black Sabbath / Sabotage ready for Super Deluxe treatment

The sixth Black Sabbath album, Sabotage, is the next album to get the ‘Super Deluxe’ treatment and will be released via BMG on 11 June.

In 1975, at the time the band were starting to recorded ‘Sabotage’, they were in the middle of a protracted legal battle with their former manager. With the Sabbath members feeling constantly “sabotaged”, these feelings helped to name the album and certainly contributed to the intensity of the new music they were working on.

The usual four CD and four Vinyl LP package will be presented, with the latter including a bonus 7″ with the single edit for ‘Am I Going Insane (Radio)’ c/w ‘Hole In The Sky’ with artwork replicating the very rare Japanese release of the single.

There is also a complete live show from their 1975 Tour included.

‘Sabotage’ was recorded in London and Brussels and the band produced the album with Mike Butcher. Released in July 1975 in the US and September 1975 in the UK, it was certified Gold in America and Silver in the UK.

Tracks like ‘Symptom Of The Universe’ became Sabbath staples, while the more experimental ‘Supertzar’ would feature harp, a Mellotron and the English Chamber Choir.

In-depth liner notes tell the story of the album through quotes from band members and the music media, along with rare photos and press clippings from the era. Also included in the package is a 1975 Madison Square Garden replica concert book and Sabotage 1975 Tour colour poster.
