Cancer is a Cant… say it with a Sarf London accent and you’ll get what I mean. Here’s a fundraiser close to my heart as not only is it for the former drummer of one my favourite bands but he’s suffering with the same cancer I was diagnosed with a few months ago. And yes, bowel cancer is a real bummer.
Drummer Paul Hornby played with the Dogs D’Amour, London Quireboys and bands such as Nightmares In Wax with Pete Burns (pre-Dead or Alive) and Pink Military. Originally from Liverpool he decided to take the plunge and move Stateside in 1988. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer that has spread to his liver and lung and this amazing fundraiser and blog came about because two good friends decided that something needed to be done after a year of watching their friend struggle to take care of mounting medical bills, endless prescriptions and countless doctors’ visits.
The blog is as moving as it is amusing (yes, really! It’s brilliantly written with humour!) He tells me: “The barnet is riding the storm pretty damn well!” which is great but he still needs our help.
Please help to spread the word.
