W.A.S.P To Bring Album One Alive Tour To The UK

Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P will bring their Album One Alive Tour to the UK in 2025. As in the earlier US tour, you will not hear Animal (F**k Like A Beast), the song that got the ire of the PMRC was not on the original debut album.

“This is the tour that showcases the album that started the long, long undying bond between the band and all the fans in your countries where all our international success first began 40 years ago,” Blackie Lawless said.

“It was an angry record made by an angry band. It was a record that not only reflected the attitude of the band members who made it, but also a record that reflected its time.”

W.A.S.P celebrated their 40 Years Live Tour a couple of years ago, with Blackie declaring that the US leg had “been a joy I’ve not felt since the first tour we did in ’84-’85.

During a VIP Experience at one of their 40 Years Live World Tour North American Shows, W.A.S.P leader Blackie Lawless spoke of his regret in losing drummer Tony Richards from the first W.A.S.P. lineup and how it “made me sick to my stomach because I remembered how good we were.”

Richards played with the band from 1982 until after the release of their debut album, W.A.S.P, in 1984.

“Tony was stunning as a drummer and performer. Tony was one of those five-point guys. He looked great, looked great in photos, and performed great. You know, could sing his ass off and perform his butt off. When we lost him, we were mortally wounded, and we knew it.”

Armored Saint, who were on the North America tour, will join W.A.S.P for the September UK dates. “This tour showcases for the first time,” Blackie says, “that landmark first album, played in its entirety, from top to bottom, most likely never to be repeated ever again.

Along with bassist Mike Duda and lead guitarist Doug Blair, whose tenures in the band are 29 and 26 years respectively, W.A.S.P. are joined by long time drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester.

“So be there and see these Winged Assassins, and witness this once-in-a-lifetime event,” Blackie says. Tickets go on sale 10am, Friday 31st January 2025.
