Vardis / NWOBHM Legends double live album “guaranteed no overdubs”

20 September 2021

Vardis will release 100 M.P.H.@100 Club, a double live album recorded on 13 March 13 2020. The album features Steve Zodiac (Guitar, Vocals), Joe Clancy (Drums) and Roly Bailey (Bass) and celebrates the 40th anniversary of Vardis’ live debut LP 100 M.P.H.

100 M.P.H. was released on 1 November 1980, entering the U.K. album charts at number 52, becoming one of the earliest New Wave of British Heavy Metal records. This new live release records a blistering two-hour set which includes every track from an album that led the way for Thrash.

In the 1970s, Vardis’ relentless touring of the working men’s clubs in Northern England gained the band a reputation for high energy technical brilliance delivering a unique heavy rock style and took then to support slots with Hawkwind, Slade, Motörhead and Saxon.

100 M.P.H is seen as an old school Heavy Metal classic, and the bands fast punk rhythms, relentless heavy riffs and blistering blues-rock solos echo through Metallica’s 1983 Kill ‘Em All and Megadeth’s 1985 Killing Is My Business … and Business Is Good.

100 M.P.H.@100 Club will be released on 26 November 2021 through SPV/Steamhammer, and the band state that there are “guaranteed no overdubs.”

The album is available in CD digipak, two-LP gatefold 140 g, black vinyl, printed inner sleeves, with one bonus track, and at the usual streaming/download sites. Pre-order fromsmarturl.it/VardisLive
