Sylosis Ignite Norwich On A Night Of Metal Mastery

Sylosis are back with a brand new release, Absent, and with this news comes a brand new tour. As the band rolls on to the third show of an almost sell-out tour, it sees a return to the Adrian Flux Waterfront in Norwich. Surprisingly, it’s upstairs, so it’s a very intimate show for the UK Thrashers this evening.

Sylosis

Sylosis starts big. Poison For The Lost, from their latest release, A Sign Of Things To Come, starts things off, and straight away, the fans start losing it with excitement. The band then delve straight into another track from the album, Pariahs.

This is a band that has not always been consistent in releasing albums every year. As many know, frontman and lead guitarist Josh Middleton joined Architects for a while. But now he is back with the band that put him on the map.

This time around, Sylosis is taking it in a new direction in hopes of breaking the mainstream market. What a way to do it with their newest album. Sylosis are as hungry as ever, and with a fully dedicated unit, the sky is the limit.

Sprinkled in the set are a few of the band’s early numbers. Blackest Skyline, Stained Humanity and Withered from Conclusion Of An Age are highlights. It’s hard to believe it’s been sixteen years since its release, but what an album it is.

After what has been an absolute master class from Sylosis, they have two more in the bag for us before they call it a night on the third show of the tour.

Worship Decay is followed by Deadwood to leave the fans happy. Tonight, Sylosis showed the people of Norwich that there is a lot more to come in the future. And the future is looking bright.

Second on this triple header lineup is Burner, a fairly new band on the scene making waves and climbing the ranks. With massive riffs and bone-shaking breakdowns, Burner pick up where Harbinger left the crowd.

The South Londoners deliver a fine taste of Metal to the fans but also know when to slow it down on certain songs.

Being only a four piece, they do a fantastic job of still sounding massive as well as having a great presence. This gives the band a lot of depth in my opinion.

Harbinger

Starting the night off is Harbinger from London, bringing Technical Deathcore of the highest degree to Norwich.

Harbinger are here to prove themselves in a big way, as they are well aware of this opportunity they have been given to be on this tour, and not for a moment do they disappoint.

The band does a fantastic job bringing the audience to life, especially as it’s not even 7 pm yet. Getting a circle pit this early is no easy task, but somehow, it happened.

These guys are certainly ones to look out for in the future, as they deliver a solid performance that sets the night off in style.

These were two fantastic bands Sylosis chose to accompany them on this tour.
