Running Wild Reissue Classic Albums Death Or Glory And Blazon Stone

German Heavy/Power/Speed Metal pioneers Running Wild will see their classic albums Death Or Glory and Blazon Stone reissued as very limited vinyl picture discs through Hammerheart Records on 13 February 2026.

Originally released in 1989, Death Or Glory, the bands fifth album, is widely viewed as the pinnacle of Running Wild’s career and one of the defining Heavy/Power/Speed Metal records of its era. The vocals, lyrics, drums and guitar and bass work captured a band at full sail, delivering a passionate and epic album that fully deserves its classic status.

Framed as a war cry against the oncoming hordes of emerging Death Metal bands, it is a reminder that Classic Metal songwriting always has a place regardless of fashion or trend.

After the success of Death Or Glory, Running Wild chose to push the tempo even further without sacrificing the strong melodies that had become their hallmark. The result was 1991’s Blazon Stone, which went on to become their best-selling album on the back of the critical acclaim earned by Port Royal and Death Or Glory.

The record tightened their pirate-tinged Heavy Metal attack and cemented their reputation across Europe and beyond.

Despite that legacy, Running Wild often go underappreciated when discussions turn to the greats of Heavy Metal. What started as a band has become a focused creative force that still burns with the spirit of its prime years. Few acts in Metal history have delivered so many powerful albums across nearly a decade, a catalogue that continues to command respect.

Both reissues arrive as striking picture discs, making them essential for collectors and new fans alike.
