Ross Davidson, who took the stage name Ross William Wild, has been found guilty of four further sexual offences. He pleaded guilty to voyeurism and was later found guilty by a jury at Wood Green Crown Court of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault, following a ten-day trial and 11 hours of deliberations. The offences relate to two victims.
The former singer with Mercutio and Spandau Ballet was previously convicted in July 2024 of one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of voyeurism relating to four separate victims.
“Davidson is a prolific offender who carried out cowardly and opportunistic assaults against his victims,” Detective Constable Kamila Kedadrova, who was part of the investigation team, said.
“Our dedicated team of officers have worked with determination and care to secure the evidence which has proved essential in achieving today’s result. I also commend the victims for their courage and support for the investigation.”
Davidson had pleaded not guilty to the rape of a woman in London in March 2015. The victim reported that she had woken up to find herself being raped by Davidson while staying with him at an address in London in March 2015. He was charged with this offence on 24 April 2023.
He also denied the attempted rape and sexual assault of another woman in Thailand in December 2019. Specially trained officers contacted her after discovering a video on Davidson’s phone. The prosecution said this showed her being touched while “asleep, still and unresponsive” and “at least half naked” in the hotel room. Davidson had pleaded guilty to the charge of voyeurism.
It was found that Davidson, who was in Thailand at the time of the further offending in 2019, had attempted to rape the second victim. The victim had been woken by his actions and questioned him, which had prompted him to stop.
A complex investigation into Davidson’s offending began in 2019, when he was arrested at his home, and his digital devices were seized. When examining the devices, officers uncovered multiple videos of Davidson raping and sexually assaulting victims.
On 24 July 2022, Davidson was charged with 17 sexual offences, for which he had been remanded in custody. Following media coverage of these charges, a further victim came forward to report a rape.
“The Met is committed to securing justice for victims of sexual offences, no matter when they occurred. Over the past five years, we have more than tripled arrests and charges for rape and serious sexual offences.
“All reports we receive will be taken seriously, while being treated with the upmost respect and care.”
A further hearing has been set for 4 February 2026 at Wood Green Crown Court, when a sentencing date is expected to be discussed, per court/PA coverage.
