Massive Wagons will release their new live album Live At The Great Hall on 27 March 2026 via Earache Records, capturing the energy of two sold-out hometown shows at Lancaster University’s Great Hall.
Forty years after the venue last hosted a rock show, the band brought live music back to the Great Hall across consecutive nights in September 2025. Once a stage for legends such as The Who, Black Sabbath and Queen, the room roared into life again as Massive Wagons recorded their new album in front of a packed hometown crowd.
The album’s first single and video, Fun While It Lasted, is out now on digital platforms, giving a first taste of the set’s mix of anthems, singalongs and sweat-drenched chaos.
Guitarist Adam Thistlewaite says the band had talked about making a live record for years, but the Great Hall story and the step up in their show after years of Heavy touring finally made it the right moment.
Frontman Barry Mills adds that the band wanted to bottle the atmosphere of a Wagons gig – the crowd, the feel and the joy – in a way that fans could return to again and again.
Live At The Great Hall follows a strong run for the band. Their last studio album Earth To Grace delivered a Number 1 spot on the UK Rock Albums chart and reached Number 4 in the Official UK Top 40, while relentless road work has seen them share stages with Myles Kennedy, The Darkness, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Status Quo and hit major festivals including Download, Wacken, Graspop and the Monsters Of Rock Cruise.
To mark the release, Massive Wagons will play three intimate album-launch events at the Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre on 27 and 28 March 2026, including a special matinee performance.
Each show will feature live songs from the album, stories from the road, conversations with guests including original Great Hall promoter Barry Lucas, plus an audience Q&A.
Fans at these tiny shows will also receive an alternate-artwork signed CD sleeve, a commemorative lanyard and a goodie bag, with only 60 tickets available per night. Tickets and further information are available via the band’s official site.
