The Maid Of Stone Festival 2024 edition will find 39 bands gracing the stage at Mote Park between 19 and 21 July 2024. Gun, Wolfmother and Mr. Big are the headline acts on what has become, over the years, a must-attend event for music lovers.
The 2023 edition was an epic weekend, with an eclectic lineup covered by over 20 articles at MetalTalk. 2024 is looking even sharper. “It has been a difficult year for promoters,” Festival booker Chris Wright said. “We’ve already seen big events postpone their 2024 shows, but we were determined to build on the successes of last year and grow.”
Mr. Big, who are on their final worldwide tour, will headline the Sunday. With the passing of drummer and co-founder Pat Torpey, who lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease in 2018, Eric Martin, Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert are marking the end of the legacy of the band. Joining them on drums is Nick D’Virgilio.
In an earlier interview with MetalTalk, Billy Sheehan spoke of how Mr. Big “was and still is a huge part of my life. We want to do Pat Torpey’s memory proud and do it well.”
Joining Mr. Big on Sunday are Larkin Poe, Living Colour, Massive Wagons, Jared James Nichols, As December Falls, These Wicked Rivers, Seething Akira, Preacher Stone and Phoenix Lake.
The Saturday bill is topped by Wolfmother and Those Damn Crows, one of the most exciting bands around today. It’s been an incredible calendar year for the band, and we are looking forward to find out what is in store in 2024. Also on Saturday, you can catch The Warning, Wayward Sons, Tyketto, When Rivers Meet, Mason Hill, The Commoners, South Of Salem and Daxx & Roxane.
Friday evening hosts Gun, Blaze Bayley and White Raven Down.
Completing the lineup on the Firestarter Stage are Ward XVI, Scarlett Riot, Dead Man’s Whiskey, The Karma Effect, Ashen Reach, Darnell Cole & The Vibe, The Hot One Two, Drew Dixon, Crowley, Twister, Until 9, Black Roze, Blind River, Brake Loose, Spyder Byte and Big River.
