Lords Of NWOBHM / New Supergroup Unites Metal Legends For Tokyo Debut

The new supergroup, Lords OF NWOBHM, will unite members of Praying Mantis, Diamond Head, Raven, Tank, and Persian Risk in a group set to honour the classic era of Heavy Metal. With two shows already booked for Tokyo, Japan, in January 2026, more dates will be announced soon.

The eye catching linup features Tino Troy (Praying Mantis – guitar), John Gallagher (Raven – bass), Karl Wilcox (Diamond Head – drums), Cliff Evans (Tank – guitar), Carl Sentance (Persian Risk – vocals) will play classic tracks from the those bands plus a carefully curated selection of songs from several of the other iconic artists from the era to make this the ultimate NWOBHM show.

Karl Wilcox promised us that this will be “a hefty salute to the genre that spawned some of Metal’s biggest bands.”

With the ever-growing interest and respect around the world for the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, there’s never been a better time to celebrate the music of those pioneering bands from the era. “The cream of British Metal playing the best of the NWOBHM,” John Gallagher told us.

The Lords OF NWOBHM is a group of musicians who were key members of some of the biggest bands of that time and will faithfully perform many of those classic songs that are now a major part of rock music history. “This music is in our blood,” Clif Evans said.

We wait with baited breath for the news of UK shows. “The second wave is imminent,” Tino Troy said. As Carl Sentance says, “NWOBHM never dies.”
