Jerry Cantrell, the iconic Alice In Chains founder and revered solo artist, has just dropped the electrifying new video for I Want Blood, the searing title track from his latest solo album. A blistering live performance captured on camera, the video features a Heavy Metal dream team with Cantrell joined by Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan on bass and Faith No More’s Mike Bordin behind the kit.
Directed by Bill Yukich, the I Want Blood video channels existential urgency with a raw visual style. “It explores our struggle against time – a force we can’t escape and the only thing we truly possess… until we don’t,” Yukich explains.
The result is a gritty, unfiltered celebration of rock authenticity, spotlighting three legends at the height of their craft.
“Watching Jerry, Duff, and Bordin bring this song to life on set was unforgettable,” Yukich says. “Raw, real, and absolutely legendary.”
This release comes hot on the heels of Cantrell’s return to the stage, with a full European tour kicking off 31 May. UK fans can catch him live at the prestigious Download Festival on 15 June, followed by a headline performance at London’s Kentish Town Forum on 17 June, supported by darkwave duo Vowws.
Described by MetalTalk as “darkly delicious,” I Want Blood is an album brimming with Cantrell’s signature vocals and guitar-driven melodies.
Available now in multiple formats—CD, digital, and several exclusive vinyl variants—I Want Blood also includes a deluxe spoken-word edition featuring Cantrell’s own narration and contributions from producer Joe Barresi, Greg Puciato, Roy Mayorga, and others.
In addition to his European run, Cantrell hits the road in the U.S. from 16 August, with shows spanning the West Coast, South, and Midwest through mid-September.
