Jeff Scott Soto & Dino Jelusick Preview Dewa 19 All Stars 2.0

Dewa 19, one of the biggest rock bands in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, will host The Rockstar Legends Live In Jakarta on 6 September 2025. This is a return for the All Stars concert, which was held in 2023, and recently Jeff Scott Soto and Dino Jelusick were in Jakarta with Dewa 19 to promote the evening.

The 2023 shows were held in three stadiums across Jakarta, Solo and Bandung, resulting in an audience of hundreds of thousands. These shows featured Dewa 19 and an All Stars lineup with Derek Sherinian, Richie Kotzen, Jeff Scott Soto, Phil X and Dino Jelusick.

The 2025 event will be held by Dewa 19, led by Ahmad Dhani, who have a massive following in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, adds the 2.0 suffix and can be experienced in Jakarta at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

The September show was rearranged from 18 January 2025, because the Gelora Bung Karno stadium was used by the Indonesian national football team in round three of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The postponement means that John Waite, one of the legends who was going to participate, will be unavailable.

The rockstars who will participate in Dewa 19 Featuring All Stars 2.0 are Billy Sheehan and Eric Martin from Mr. Big, Nuno Bettencourt and Gary Cherone from Extreme, Derek Sherinian (Black Country Communion, Sons of Apollo, Planet X, ex Dream Theater, ex Alice Cooper), Dino Jelusick (Jelusick, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Whitesnake) and Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (Sons of Apollo, ex Guns N’ Roses).

In June, Jeff Scott Soto and Dino Jelusick were brought to Jakarta by Dewa 19, who were performing at the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix – ABB FIA Formula E World Championship event at the Ancol circuit, Jakarta.

Jeff and Dino joined for several songs, including Jeff on Another One Bites The Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody, a Jeff and Dino duet. Dino sang the English version of the Dewa 19 song Arjuna, then a duet with Ahmad Dhani, the leader of Dewa 19, for Pangeran Cinta.

Prior to the E-Prix, Jeff Scott Soto and Dino Jelusick joined a mini media gathering at one of the Kopi Dewa 19 branches, a rock ‘n’ roll concept cafe in Kebayoran Park Mall, Cipulir, South Jakarta.

The gathering, which took place in a relaxed and enjoyable way, featured informal chats and a question and answer session with the press, including MetalTalk Indonesia.

Both Jeff Scott Soto and Dino Jelusick spoke at length about the excitement and the preparations for the All Stars 2.0 shows. MetalTalk did not forget to ask Dino about the future for Whitesnake, replying that they will not tour again, and David Coverdale will not tour again. Dino emphasised that Whitesnake Experience is not a project with Serbia being the sole outing.

For Jeff Scott Soto, Sons Of Apollo is on hiatus as all are busy with their respective projects, including Mike Portnoy’s return to Dream Theater. Jeff expressed his hope that there will be some news of more shows in the future.

In a relaxed and fun atmosphere, Jeff and Dino had time to do an a cappella harmonising with the audience during Hard to Say I’m Sorry by Chicago.

MetalTalk would like to thank Vania and the team from marketing communications for Dewa 19 Featuring All Stars and Kopi Dewa 19.
