Hellfest 2023. It’s hot in the heart of Clisson, France. This iconic music festival continues to draw legions of dedicated headbangers from around the globe, forging an unbreakable bond among Metal enthusiasts.
The news that overnight a horde of rampaging ants had descended on MetalTalk photographer Georgia’s tent had the team at home scouring Google for a solution. It turns out that talcum powder really does work.
Elsewhere across the site, two Heavy Metal romantics tied the knot. At this time, we are unaware of their honeymoon plans. Maybe a trip to a South American festival might be on the cards.
An early morning trip to the supermarket just outside the Hellfest site finds a picturesque array of hungry and thirsty Metal fans looking for sustenance.
I Prevail
Yesterday, we enjoyed the return of I Prevail. They came out hard, and their fans immediately fired back to meet that energy. Instantly drinks were thrown, and crowd surfers are go! They were exciting to watch from start to finish. The two different styles of vocal complemented each other well. Everything was different, including their style, even the way they head banged!
It was electric down here at the front. We were caught up in it all, and in this extreme heat too. So when they shot the hose pipes at us, it gave us a new lease of life to give more, just as I Prevail demanded.
They gave as much as they asked for, though. Those throaty growls from Eric, his face was beaming red by the end of it. Amongst the decent set length (I love how long bands get at Hellfest) they played Bow Down and covered System Of A Down’s Chop Suey, which went down a storm!
I Prevail were teasing the fans proving why they should come back next year! Fantastic! This was crowd interaction all the way.
