Gloryhammer put up a fun night at The Garage, Glasgow, on their No Sleep To Auchtertool tour with support from Dominum and Fellowship. Tonight is a fun-themed night with tales of dragons and pirate zombies all wrapped by anything Power Metal.

Gloryhammer
Gloryhammer were the band that we were all waiting for tonight. This is another band from the UK that has been around a fair bit longer than the two previous bands. Tonight, they walked on the stage, looking ready for battle.
Gloryhammer closed 2024 with the surprise single He Has Returned, which expanded the story of the fan-favourite character of the Robot Prince of Auchtertool, the return which suggested this tour name.
The show starts with a surprise as we are treated to a cardboard cutout of Tom Jones on the stage while the song Delilah comes on. The whole crowd starts to sing the chorus before the act properly starts.
They take no time to muck about as each member slowly enters the stage one by one before kicking into their first song. Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost.
This is the heaviest sound of the night. The songs are just as catchy as ever, which leaves the crowd singing each chorus word for word. Vocalist Sozos Michael belts each word with sheer passion as he waves his fists in the air, having the time of his life. This is reflected in the other members, too, as they bounce up and down the stage while perfecting their instruments live.
We are treated to songs like Fly Away, Wasteland Warrior Hoots Patrol, Masters Of The Galaxy, and one of my favourites – Universe On Fire.
Like the previous bands, there is plenty of fan interaction, but the main show itself during the songs provides enough energy to get some good mosh pits rolling. The sounds are precise and clear, with enough energy to make your head bop for each song.
The show ends with Hootsforce and The Unicorn Invasion Of Dundee. This was a fantastic and highly entertaining show from all three acts. Even if Power Metal is not your type of music, I highly recommend these bands live as it will be hard not to enjoy yourself regardless of music taste.
Well done guys. I hope to see you all again soon.
Fellowship
First, tonight, were Fellowship, a fun fantasy-themed band from Harwich in the UK. They have already proven to many people how a Power Metal band should sound with their previous shows.
Tonight is no different as they set up quickly and dive straight in with fierce but happy-sounding Metal. If The Hobbit and Dungeons And Dragons game had to create a Metal band to set the theme for their stories, then Fellowship would be a perfect match.
It felt like I was in the game myself, where each song has a strong, catchy chorus that sticks in your head until the next song comes on. Watching Fellowship means having a lot of fun.
That is a lot of engagement with the crowd, too. Instead of raising our fists in the air with devil horns, Fellowship requestthe crowd to lift their arms in the air and create a heart symbol instead. This creates a combined connection among us all.
The sounds are tight and powerful while Mathew’s vocals roar into the venue with a ton of passion about the theme of each song.
A young and seriously fun band with already a small arsenal of releases in their pocket, I look forward to seeing them again when the time allows. There seem to be no villains or monsters stopping them anytime soon.
Dominum
Next were Dominum, another fresh band that formed in 2022 in Germany. Tonight they were set to show Glasgow that fun-themed adventures are still on a roll.
They have been described by Napalm Records as a band that that focuses on horror-inspired lyrics, powerful compositions and theatrical performances. After seeing their set tonight, I could see this description fits them perfectly.
The riffs are slightly heavier and crunchier than Fellowship. There are plenty of pirate zombie themes within the lyrics and tones from the guitars and bass.
The engagement with the crowd is just as fun. Vocalist Dr Dead knows how to command his audience with his communication skills. From time to time, he would ask us to jump without thinking, and of course, the crowd did exactly what he said.
After a bit of mucking about, the whole audience jumps up and down, making the Mexican wave to each of his commands. A good bit of fun between each song.
The best parts, though, are the songs themselves. A good performance that echoes the quality of their recorded songs but with an extra hint of spice into the live environment. The vocals are crisp, clear and full of energy. The guitars and bass roar above the ceiling and lastly, the drums do what Metal drums do best. Blast away our eardrums.
Who knew that seeing a band dressed up as pirate zombies would be this impressive and enjoyable to watch? A great performance from a truly stand-up band.
This gig was awesome! I love Gloryhammer but I had the opportunity to meet fellowship afterwards. They were really friendly and very humble! I’ve been listening to them ever since! My Dad’s now obsessed with Dominum and rightly so. They all absolutely rocked!🤘
