When music fans reach a certain age, the possibility of attending their favourite band in concert becomes slim as they either retire or sadly pass away, leaving a void in their musical memories. Tribute bands, especially of music from the ’70s and ’80s, have become increasingly popular, and some can be a huge moneymaker as they honour the legendary bands that they represent.

Forever Seger, with their 10-piece band, represents the music of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band note-for-note as they ripped through a two-hour set list which could fill an entire greatest hits CD or vinyl.
Bob Seger, who came out of Detroit, Michigan, in the late 1960’s, made a name for himself creating the soundtrack for a generation by playing a bluesy classic rock format, which was welcomed by the heartland of America.

With music ranging from ballads to rocking anthems, they even caught the eye of KISS in 1976, who had Seger open for them on tour. Some bands yearn for that one big hit that defines them. Seger has at least ten classics that fans could easily debate over which song is the biggest.

Forever Seger Musical director John Jameson, who also plays keyboards alongside vocalist Kevin Reid, deliver a carbon copy of Seger on vocals. The lineup includes Alex Harrison on Guitar 1, Eric Robbs on guitar 2, Curtis Freeman on bass, Joel on drums and Shaylynn Anderson on saxophone, joined by awesome background vocalists Mia Praught, Cyndi Jameson and Amanda Gordon.

All are true professional musicians who flawlessly make the crowd think they are seeing the real deal in action. The big question tonight is what songs they did not play as they went through the entire catalogue.

Forever Seger thrilled the Lorain Palace with classics like Turn The Page, We Got Tonight, Like A Rock, Night Moves, Hollywood Nights, Rambli Gamblin Man, Fire Down Below, Against The Wind, Old Time Rock & Roll, closing with Katmandu.

Tonight was their show, and the band threw out a faultless and dynamic set, lapped up by an appreciative audience who were all there for a night of classic heartland rock.
If you were never able to see Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band live or were lucky enough to do so, Forever Seger are a great watch and bring back the good memories of Old Time Rock & Roll.
