If 2025 has had a proper British Metal storyline, Absolva are writing it in bold with the release of their seventh album, Justice and a host of well-received shows. This Sunday, the band rolls into the Cart & Horses and will be joined by Prymå for a Sunday matinee.
Justice is stacked with riff-first anthems built to hit hard in a room: the album review flagged The Thrill Of The Chase and Hero In Your Life as the kind of “anthemic thumpers” that feel like they were written for the live arena, while the title track doubles down on the band’s signature twin-guitar bite.

Justice expands the band’s strengths, with guest vocals adding extra punch across the record, including David Marcelis, Stu Block, Ronnie Romero, and Blaze Bayley.
Live, the band are also stepping forward with a refreshed sense of purpose. In his recent MetalTalk interview, Chris Appleton spoke about the reception to Justice being “absolutely fantastic,” and how the writing and production focus has paid off, while the band’s rehearsals have felt “fun” and energised, “almost” like being a new band again.

On Sunday, you can witness the current line-up buzz. With Tom Atkinson back on guitar and Luke Appleton on bass, Absolva are locking into a powerful, road-ready rhythm section and a reinvigorated twin-guitar attack.
You can read an earlier interview with Chris, where he talks about the album and the recent line change. As for Justice, Brian Boyle said it would be great to see this bona fide British Metal act kick the saloon doors of the UK album charts wide open and mark their territory. Now, that would be justice.
Sunday at The Cart & Horses is a perfect excuse to raise a glass to a band who have earned every mile of this moment. Doors 3 pm, curfew is 7 pm and tickets are available from here.
