Something which Frank Turner prides himself on is using his platform to introduce his dedicated fans to some of the lesser-known talents that he himself had grown to love on his travels. Joining him for show number 3016 at Rock City was Amigo The Devil and Dan Ottewell.

Amigo The Devil
Amigo The Devil are a wonderful example of a band that I did not know prior to this evening. But I am grateful to know them now. The five-piece sport a pleasant folk-rock sound comparable with Mumford and Sons, with witty lyrics that had the audience in raptures.
Without devaluing their musical ability, the band have written such clever lyrics with hilarious backstories that my face was hurting from laughter.
The show had me questioning whether the band were comedians who made music or musicians who made comedy, and I am perfectly content either way.
Amigo And The Devil are now firm additions to my tour watchlist and I can’t wait to catch them again on our shores.
Dan Ottewell
Our opening act for the evening was Dan Ottewell, a solo performer who could easily be compared to Frank Turner. Delivering clever lyrics in a folk style alone with nothing more than himself and a handful of instruments on stage, the musician did well to take command of the sizeable venue already teeming with excited onlookers.
The local performer, who has been credited as having played the most Glastonbury performances before the age of 18 and the youngest person to sell out a major Nottingham venue, will have been extremely proud to have had the opportunity to take to the legendary stage.
If Turner’s predictions of Dan Ottewell overtaking him are correct, it may well not be his last appearance here.
