Def Leppard / Adrenalize and Euphoria to be released on vinyl

Def Leppard, currently on a North American stadium tour with Mötley Crüe, will release vinyl versions of the albums Adrenalize and Euphoria on 5 August 2022. Euphoria was only previously available on vinyl as part of The Collection: Volume 2 box set released in 2019.

Adrenalize was released in 1992, going straight to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and was declared multi-platinum. It featured the major hits Make Love Like a Man, Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad, Let’s Get Rocked and Stand Up (Kick Love Into Motion).

This was the first album released following the death of guitarist Steve Clark in 1991. The song White Lightning was dedicated to the memory of Clark, who had writing credits on six of the album’s ten tracks.

The album was recorded as a four-piece, with Phil Collen taking both electric guitar parts. “We had recorded demos on multi-track,” Collen told Geoff Barton. “I was sitting there with him when he [Clark] played the original parts. I could relay that. But it was like playing along to a ghost.” Adrenalize can be pre-ordered from https://defleppard.lnk.to/AdrenalizeVinyl

Euphoria, released in June 1999, was the second album to feature Vivian Campbell. In its first week of release, Euphoria sold over 98,000 units in the US and just missed the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

The first single, Promises, topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart in June 1999, a spot the band had not held in six years. Produced by Pete Woodroffe, the album aimed to return Def Leppard to their signature ’80s sound. Euphoria can be pre-ordered from https://defleppard.lnk.to/EuphoriaVinyl

5 August 2022 will be the first time Euphoria has been released as a stand-alone vinyl product. It will be released as a 2LP set.

Def Leppard are currently on tour supporting their latest album Diamond Star Halos, which MetalTalk described as “an eclectic triumph from one of music’s finest institutions. Def Leppard will never make a better album than Hysteria, but Diamond Star Halos is the closest they’ve come since Adrenalize.”
