Connor Selby has had a grand 2023. One of the current crop of young singer-songwriters flying the flag for British blues, Connor Selby will tour in February as a very special guest to Joanne Shaw Taylor.Â
“I can’t wait to be joining Joanne Shaw Taylor on her upcoming UK tour,” Selby said. “I was lucky enough to open for her on a few dates back in 2022, so I’m thrilled to be kicking off 2024 by doing her whole tour.”
Having signed to Provogue, part of the Mascot Label Group, there was a reissue of his eponymous self-titled album this year. We described this as a thoroughly solid album, which performed at this standard, hints at huge potential ahead.
“2023 has been an amazing year,” Selby said, “and I’ve been lucky enough to open for many incredible artists, including Beth Hart, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Robert Cray, as well as doing many memorable headline shows throughout the year.”
MetalTalk’s Sid Kissenger will be one looking forward to the return of Joanne, describing her York performance as “a titillating display of British blues power, both in terms of guitar, vocals, and just the overall balance of timbres within the band to deliver this blues rock powerhouse of a show.”
