Brave Rival / Sophomore Album Promises To Be An Absolute Killer

Having hit their crowdfunding target in less than 48 hours, MetalTalk favourites Brave Rival will release their second album, Fight Or Flight, on 16 August 2024. The band will also host a special album launch show at Dingwalls, London, on 12 September 2024.

Fight Or Flight is the follow-up to Life’s Machine, which was released in May 2022 and grabbed the attention of Joe Bonamassa, who described Brave Rival as one of his “favourite discoveries” of 2022.

“Every band dreams of writing and releasing the perfect debut,” Paul Monkhouse wrote in his review of Life’s Machine. “Very few achieve that, but Brave Rival have, and then some.”

Paul also predicted that their sophomore will be an absolute killer with this much talent and firepower. “To me, there’s a different energy,” Lindsey Bonnick said. “Lyrically, just about every song can be viewed in different ways. There’s a strong thread around mental health, whether we were writing about things we had gone through ourselves or experiences picked up from meeting people on the road.”

With shows at NWOCR Livefest 2023, Maid Of Stone and The Giffard Arms captivating MetalTalk in 2023, their recent performance at Legends Of Rock in Great Yarmouth found Sarah Harding suggesting that the band, Chloe Josephine and Lindsey Bonnick on vocals, Donna Peters, drums, Ed ‘The Shred’ Clarke, guitar and Billy ‘Danger’ Dedman, are destined to play stadiums soon.

Brave Rival will tour extensively throughout 2024, including special guest spots on several dates from the 40th anniversary tour of British rock legends FM in April. They also have multiple nominations in this year’s prestigious UK Blues Awards.
