It’s Friday, and Bloodstock 2023 is well underway. From face-melting guitar solos to thunderous drum beats that reverberate through your very being, Bloodstock delivers a sensory overload that leaves us craving more. Fury are up on the Sophie Lancaster Stage.
Bloodstock Festival 2023 – Fury

They are almost the house band at Bloodstock, but it wouldn’t be the same without them. High-octane blasts of Heavy Metal is their trademark, and they do it bloody well.
The tent is the busiest it’s been on Friday as Fury hits the stage. They’ve had a couple of changes since they last played in 2021, with Nyah Ifill bringing her powerful vocals more to the front and new guitarist Tom Atkinson firmly ensconced in the line-up.
We get the full show, complete with a fire-twirling she-demon, who makes several appearances throughout the show. Fury doesn’t do bad shows, and today is another stellar performance.
Becky Baldwin, back on the site where she got the Mercyful Fate invite a year ago [Read the interview here and here], is in playful mood, taking advantage of the larger stage to move around more than is often possible.
Atkinson provides to be a fine addition. His guitar work is fluid and incisive. Up front Julian Jenkins is as cheery as always, his stage banter endearing and sincere.
Few in here are Fury newbies, and it’s no wonder that they get a great reception at the finish.
