Bloodstock 2023 / Frozen Soul And King 810 Dominate The Stage

Bloodstock Festival 2023. Bloodstock isn’t just about the music. It’s a community united by a shared passion, where friendships are forged, stories are swapped, and lifelong memories are created. Frozen Soul and King 810 continued Thursdays entertainment.

Picking up where they left off in Clwb For Bach on Monday, the glacial Death Metal of Frozen Soul proves a blistering Thursday savaging for the faithful gathered in the Sophie Tent.

Their grinding Metal sees multiple pit action from the off. The Texans are uncompromising, a battery that mixes Slayer with Obituary.

The tent is swelling, the moist atmosphere adding to the intensity. It’s what this band bring. They take no prisoners. It’s a wall of ferocity guaranteed to get the pits thrashing.

Such is the intensity, the Texans merely have to blast out their bruising Death Metal to ensure huge cheers. It’s time to get real at Bloodstock, and the crowd responds.

New tracks from Glacial Domination receive equal reverence from the pit, which swirls in a maelstrom of chaos. This is Death Metal at its finest. There are no words for the heat that rises as Frozen Soul rules day one.

King 810

You will own nothing, and you will be happy. Such is the fervour that greets the breakdowns that introduce King 810 to the Sophie Stage, it’s almost irrelevant that the band are hidden from view as they explode.

The audience is with them, word for word. It’s alien territory for me.

There’s little to watch, but the messages they bring are relevant. King 810 doesn’t conform to any norms. They have drums high above the stage. It’s mostly purple. They have pole dancers. It’s chaotic. An opening that brings anarchy.

The show is peppered with narrative. Do we know what’s going on? It’s hard to tell. I know little of their music, yet there is a significant hardcore who clearly are absorbed by their delivery.

Ultimately, it’s irrelevant. King 810 has an agenda. The pit responds in kind. I struggle with it. Dry ice shrouds the band. It might be me, but the former main stage band elicit a bizarrely huge reception.

Their politics fire their show. Hands clap, and lyrics are spat with venom. King 810 brings their own style of hardcore to BOA. The crowd love them. I retreat.

  1. My son plays drums for king810, I wish I could have been there. It’s sad they got moved to Thursday. They blow most of those other bands off the stage.
