Time Will Heal is the powerful new single from Danish Heavy Metal giants Volbeat. The track is taken from their ninth studio album, God Of Angels Trust, due on 6 June 2025 via Vertigo/Universal. The new track is accompanied by a hauntingly symbolic video and marks a poignant chapter in frontman Michael Poulsen’s artistic and personal journey.
Set against mid-tempo grooves and signature Volbeat riffs, Time Will Heal balances catharsis with melody. The video blends live performance with surreal imagery, including a blood-red room and a literal goat, capturing the song’s themes of inner turmoil and resilience.
For Poulsen, the song serves as a vessel for processing grief, particularly the lasting pain of his father’s passing.
“I’m still struggling with the loss of my father,” Poulsen shared. “Sometimes, I fall into these black holes where everything is empty. But having kids changed that—it gave me perspective and a reason to stay strong.”
Time Will Heal also sets the emotional tone for God of Angels Trust, a record that breaks away from Volbeat’s usual songwriting constraints. “I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. There are no rules—just pure expression,” said Poulsen.
The album, written and recorded in just five weeks, pushes both melodic and metallic boundaries.
