Like a phoenix emerging from the flames, Thrxnes rose from the ashes of Inglorious when the hard rockers went on indefinite hiatus as guitarists Danny De La Cruz and Dan Stevens sought a new vehicle for their hellraising fretwork talents.
Once they had met up with bassist and super-producer Josiah J Manning, the arrival of the final piece of the puzzle in drummer Will Richards saw the stars align, and Thrxnes was born.
It’s been a thrilling ride so far, the feeling of four musicians getting together to let loose and have a good time making some of the most lithe yet razor sharp material around and the story is just getting started.
Thrxnes – Ammunition
The third single, Ammunition, is a fearsome new chapter in the tale, Thrxnes firing on all cylinders with arguably their most visceral release yet.
“Ammunition is a pumping anthem about recognising the toxicity in someone who uses your pain and suffering as their own ammunition against you,” Danny told MetalTalk. “A back-and-forth relationship showing both sides of the story. Diving into dark territory with our heaviest track to date, this track would be fit for any Metal lover’s next headbanging session.”
Full of venom and angst, the urgent riffing and barbed verses give way to a gloriously hook-filled chorus that soars in defiance and strength. With a gleaming production that makes everything roar and enough grit to satisfy even the most jaded metalhead, the number is like being strapped to a drag racer as it leaves the starting line.
With a brutal breakdown and the twin solos by De La Cruz and Stevens slicing and dicing over the freight train delivery of Manning and Richards, the whole sees the promise fulfilled but with yet greater heights to come.
Rock’ n’ roll is very much alive and kicking, and this new gang in town are planning to tear the place apart.
