Starting their European tour in London, Camden Town welcomed The Plot In You and their fans on a chilly September night. As John Denver’s Take Me Home, Country Roads played, The Plot In You were more than ready to unveil their set. With Don’t Look Away, they launched into an incredible performance that set the tone for the night.

Between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, The Plot In You has delivered hit after hit that I personally adore: a blend of Metal, rock, and pop that showcases the energetic vocal prowess of lead singer Landon Tewers. His range, from clean singing to powerful screaming, is nothing short of impressive.
Following Divide and All That I Can Give, The Plot In You took us on a journey through their past, revisiting tracks from 2015 to 2021, including Face Me, The One You Loved, Crows, and Paradigm. They also introduced a brand-new song, Been Here Before, which had its live debut.
As the night progressed, the energy in the venue escalated. The crowd was ready to mosh during Forgotten, one of my favourite songs that I had eagerly anticipated screaming along to all week. The deep lyrics and heavy guitar sounds resonated deeply, and Landon Tewers delivered an unforgettable performance that was the highlight of the evening.
Closure provided a moment of respite, offering a deeply calming and significant pause in the set. The band shared in an interview that Closure explores the complexities of loss and separation, wishing the best for a loved one while struggling to move forward without their presence in your life.
As always, Landon’s sense of humour shone through when he announced their final song, Left Behind, with a special appearance from Marcus Vik, the lead singer of Invent Animate. Marcus, with his impressive vocal talent, added an extra layer of dynamism to this closing track.
The Plot In You were not about to leave the stage without playing the song that first introduced me to their music and highlighted their potential. Despite seeming like they might end their set, they returned after a five-minute break, energized by the crowd’s chants of “One More Song.”
After performing Disposable Fix, they delivered the much-anticipated Feel Nothing as the grand finale. The crowd went wild, and as they prepared to leave the venue, confetti showered over everyone, adding an extra touch of magic to the night.
I had eagerly awaited The Plot In You for a long time, and the wait was more than worth it. Every minute of their performance was a joy. Despite the relatively small stage of the Electric Ballroom, these incredible artists proved they deserve an even bigger platform.
Acres
With Camden’s Electric Ballroom steadily filling up as the audience eagerly anticipated the first band of the night, Acres, Hailing from Portsmouth, took the stage with a level of intensity and energy that felt like a new high for them.
They kick off their set with powerful renditions of Burning Throne and Into Flames. Though I was unfamiliar with their music before tonight, I found myself captivated by several tracks from their new album, including Hold On and Nothing, the latter featuring a collaboration with Silent Planet.
Acres proves to be a fresh and dynamic Metalcore band, clearly driven by their passion and resilience. Despite the challenges they faced after their debut album, Lonely World and the setbacks caused by the pandemic, they are now showcasing their full potential.
Their performance concludes on a high note with Lost, a track lead singer reveals Ben Lumber says has never been performed live before. As Acres leave the stage, the crowd is buzzing with excitement, more fired up than ever and ready for the next act.
Invent Animate
Invent Animate was my second great discovery of the evening. They were phenomenal, with an undeniable command of the stage. They kicked off their set with Sleepless Deathbed, followed by Shade Astray and False Meridian, delivering just the right energy to elevate the night.
I was particularly impressed by Marcus Vik, the lead singer, who engaged with the crowd throughout the performance. He made sure everyone was safe, especially during the Wall Of Death, which he managed to create in such a small space. He reminded the crowd, “If someone falls, you pick them up.”
From the beautiful melodies in the choruses to the ferociously groovy breakdowns, Invent Animate’s performance of Heavener was a standout. The song blended softness with intensity, featuring an amazing breakdown. Marcus’s voice was a revelation: powerful and gritty, yet almost angelic at times.
Eventually, it was time for Invent Animate to step off the stage, giving everyone a much-needed breather before The Plot In You, the much-anticipated band of the night, took the spotlight.
