The Dead Daisies / Glenn Hughes floors you on Daisyland Live version of Burn

The Dead Daisies have released their euphoric run through of Burn as the fourth Live From Daisyland EP track, recorded in Nottingham on their remarkable 2021 UK tour.

“Always a great tune to play,” Doug Aldrich said. “So this is one of those songs that takes on a life of its’ own with the band. Enjoy this, and we look forward to playing it this year with Brian Tichy on drums.”

MetalTalk were at the London show, describing the guitars of Doug Aldrich and David Lowy as a sonic wave that feels like a body blow from a Mack truck, with Tommy Clufetos hitting the drums harder than anyone since John Bonham and Cozy Powell, the bass of Glenn Hughes bleeding funk and, of course, that voice.

Burn was the title track of Deep Purples’ eighth studio album and the first one to feature then-unknown David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes.

The Dead Daisies kick off their EU Summer Tour with a plethora of shows from 2 June in Hamburg with Foreigner and traversing the continent to finish up at the Time To Rock Festival in Sweden on 5 August.

“It’s been nearly four years since we’ve toured Europe,” David Lowy said. “We can’t wait to return with this line-up and play songs from our new album along with your Daisies favourites.”

Burn follows Rise Up, Bustle And Flow and Long Way To Go on the Live From Daisyland EP. For more details visit https://thedeaddaisies.com/live-from-daisyland-ep/
