Helloween and Hammerfall United Forces Tour restarts in May

The rescheduled United Forces Tour featuring Heavy Metal titans, Helloween and Hammerfall, begins on 4 May 2022 at Manchester Academy. Brixton Academy follows before the bands head out to mainland Europe.

Andi Deris told MetalTalk, “we are ‘hammered’ to have our friends from Hammerfall with us on tour! Back in 2002, the band produced their album Crimson Thunder in my studio in Tenerife, and we had a lot of fun back then.”

“We are so ridiculously excited about this,” Oscar Dronjak said. “Not only do we get to go out on tour again after two looooooooong years of stage drought, but we get to do it with a band that we love and was a great inspiration to us in forming Hammerfall in the first place.

“The United Forces Tour will be something truly special. You can count on that.”

Helloween and Hammerfall United Forces Tour restarts in May

Helloween released their self-titled sixteenth studio album last year, which opened a brand new chapter in their 35-year Power Metal odyssey. MetalTalk described the album as one of the best albums of their career.

The album was designed to deliver the feel of Helloween’s classic era and was recorded entirely in analogue, giving it a natural and more traditional sound. The band also used the original drum kit of former drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg, who sadly passed away in 1995, a lovely homage to his playing on the Seven Keys records.

Helloween recently released the video for Out For The Glory. “I had an idea for a video where all band members are depicted as dinky, odd noble courtiers and ministers,” guitarist Michael Weikath said.

“All of us should be floating in the clouds, [vocalist Andi] Deris as a nutty emperor… and after a while, more and more details came up and at one point in time we wrote everything down and sent the video concept to the Australian animation team.”
